Renaissance Opera Ballet
-Ballet began in the Italian
Renaissance courts in the 15th century before becoming
 concert dance in France.
Italian Renaissance Opera Ballet was performed at wedding and banquets which were things enjoyed by the elite class
Because Ballet Opera's genesis was in Italian much of the music used and terminology of dance is in Italian such as crescendo or faster
King Loius XIV loved ballet and the arts and he was a big advocate for such things. Because of this he established a professional dance organization formally known as Academic Royale De Danse with the help of Pierre Beauchamp.
At this time ballet dancers were men and female roles were played by men dressed in female costumes. It was not until 1681 where we see the first female appear in a ballet, The Triumphant of Love
